The Role
The successful applicant in this position will work hand-in-glove with our Territory Managers, the inside sales team and the other members of our senior management group in a leadership role. The mandate will be to create sales by strengthening our presence with major specifying authorities, engineering firms and end-users we now serve and helping us penetrate new ones. The Ideal candidate may possess a degree in chemistry or engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in single-handedly growing sales, bringing in new customers and penetrating new markets in an industrial environment, ideally in the high performance coatings industry. In order to be successful in this position, you will be a driven overachiever, competitive, technically oriented, hands-on, self-directed, strategic, skillful at planning and organizing, innovative, practical, goal-oriented and a people person with an impressive track record.
Responsibilities and Accountability
The Engineering Territory Manager will utilize many techniques to grow sales exponentially. Such techniques includes assessments of marketing opportunities and target markets, intelligence gathering on customers and competitors, generating leads for possible sales, follow-up on sales activity, formal proposal writing and developing coatings and related services specifications for commercial and industrial markets.
The key responsibility of the Engineering Territory Manager is mainly to define and facilitate business development activities within selected sectors. The company looks to the professional to generate and implement strategies for development. The professional has to design cost-effective yet innovative options for growing sales.
Other responsibilities include:
Supporting senior management in augmenting sales strategies and targets
Implementing preconceived sales development strategies
Analyzing competent marketing activity and trends

Developing solid relationships to increase business volume
